The Last Humans

About the Exhibition

In an era where the world is rapidly transitioning towards the post-human world of artificial intelligence and robotics, this exhibition presents the Last Humans, the sole survivors on Earth who have chosen a different path of progress. These individuals have forged a profound connection with the natural cycles of life, death, and regeneration, embracing harmony and a deep reverence for the Earth. They are not mere relics or curiosities but living embodiments of the ancient roots of civilization. Their existence stands as a testament to the indomitable spirit of humanity, showcasing its remarkable resilience, adaptability, and boundless inventiveness.

The Last Humans Project

Over the past two decades, Arno Elias has documented the lives of some of the last individuals living in isolation from technology. Through his photography and filmmaking, Elias has established deep connections with these individuals, capturing their relationships and moments in time. These experiences have instilled in him a profound sense of humanity and heightened his awareness of the power and beauty of the natural world, as well as the endangered cultures he encounters. Elias’s work serves as a source of inspiration for explorers and curious minds, providing a unique perspective on a vastly different lifestyle from our own.
